El Salvador (Spain) Senior Colts Rugby @ Lymm RFC

In 2023 the now Senior Colts undertook a tour to Coimbra.
El Salvador were also on tour and they played 2 games against one another – a win a piece.
Whilst enjoying the third half despite the language barrier it was agreed it would be good to play again and the idea of our 2025 tour was born.
it was a competitive fixture again this time in Spain and El Salvador were the greatest of hosts, providing numerous activities and food, they even laid on training for our lads with their 1st XV coaches and then hosted 56 of us at their local derby v VRAC. El Salvador won a tight game and the Lymm team joined in the end of match pitch invasion!
Our boys and parents thoroughly enjoyed the trip and by the end of the weekend in the words of our hosts “you arrived as opponents and you leave as brothers!”.
We have been keen to return the hospitality and this weekend (19th, 20th and 21st September) we are delighted to be hosting 32 players and 2 of the El Salvador coaching team. Oscar Mena who is lead coach for the Senior Colts and Juan Carlos Perez who is head coach for the club. They are very welcome and we hope they enjoy our hospitality as much as we enjoyed theirs.
It’s a great example of what is best about rugby – common values, hospitality towards visitors, competitive rugby and positive experiences for our young players.
A fixture will be played to tomorrow (20th September) with a 11am KO. With no other Senior team rugby taking place why not come down and give a rousing Lymm RFC welcome to our guests.
