Girls Rugby at Lymm RFC
Lymm Girls 2026/27 Season
The launch of the new girls’ rugby section at Lymm RFC has been an outstanding success, with around 20 girls from a range of age groups attending the very first training session.
The fantastic turnout marks an exciting beginning for the club’s newest venture, which aims to provide girls from across the local community with the opportunity to experience the thrilling game of rugby union. Coaches, volunteers and families were delighted to see so many enthusiastic players take part, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere from day one.
The long-term vision is to build more than just a rugby team. Lymm RFC hopes to create a home where girls can develop friendships, build confidence, learn valuable life skills and make lifelong memories through one of the most exciting, fast-paced and tactical sports in the world.
And there are no plans to slow down.
The club is already in discussions with other rugby clubs to organise fixtures and give players the opportunity to experience competitive rugby in the near future. At the same time, conversations are underway with local primary schools to introduce rugby coaching sessions during school hours and through after-school clubs. Pupils who take part in these sessions will then be invited to continue their rugby journey at Lymm RFC.
The club is committed to growing girls’ rugby at every age level. While the current programme is focused on a specific age group, younger girls are welcome to come along on Wednesdays to get involved and experience the sport. Additional training days will also be available for players within their respective age groups as the section continues to expand.
This successful first week is only the beginning, and everyone at Lymm RFC is excited about what the future holds. With strong community support, growing interest and plenty of ambition, the club is confident that girls’ rugby at Lymm RFC will continue to flourish for years to come.
Anyone interested in joining the girls’ rugby section at Lymm RFC is encouraged to get in touch or come along to a training session to see what rugby is all about.
