First things first. A very warm welcome to Varun, Ollie and Jack into the Lymm U16s family!

This game, the first of the season was a really excellent start; the sign of great games to come!

A promising and reassuring all-round effort by everyone and some good skills and strong defence on show.

Credit goes to all the boys who played on the Dukenfield side;  you played just as hard for the opposition as you did for Lymm; well done to you all!

After 10 minutes and a few scrappy plays, the boys showed some excellent phases of forward strength, backed up with plenty of passing link up play.

The highlight of the first quarter had to be one of the most committed try saving tackles we will see this season. Every parent felt the pain and realised why they no longer play rugby.  Super tackle by Declan Hodson!

Following a brief period 3 – 0 down, there was no looking back, once the boys established some rhythm; with Declan and Eddie both breaking the line to score, which were neatly converted by Ollie Larkin.

The half time break was the spring board for some consistent pressure in both defence and attack, adding over 40 more points during the second period.

There were numerous stand out moments. Nathan Lang straightening up his run to find a gap and running 30 yards to score, following a superb miss pass move was one and Varun ripping the ball from the opposition to send the ball down the line for Eddie to score being just a couple of these.

A solid start to the season and a real opportunity for everyone to get plenty of game time.

Lots of positive periods of play and hard work from everyone, thank you to all players for the big effort and well done!

Thankyou
