It’s all about the Rugby – or is it?

Another great day at Lymm Rugby Club on Saturday with our 1st Team chalking up their 5th victory in a row, to go 5th in the North Premier division on 51 points. With 10 games still to play, 4 at home and 6 away, there is still some way to go in the 2021/22 season!

Out on the pitch we were treated to some excellent rugby, in very windy conditions.  The difference in ability between the teams didn’t diminish the competitive nature of the match on view and as the spectators retreated to the club house, to get warm, the conversation was all positive in respect of the sporting experience we had all enjoyed. Full details of the game can be seen in the match report.

But the fun didn’t end there! Back in the club house the chatter was loud and heart-warming and brought back memories from my days as a 1st Team player back in the 90’s – a great win on the pitch was always followed by a great social experience in the club house. But what was especially pleasing on Saturday was the presence of players families enjoying the social spaces that Beechwood provides. Partners, wives, girlfriends, and their kids added to the family atmosphere that Lymm RFC is known and respected for. The photo below captures just a few of the smiling faces of those present.

We take our Rugby very seriously on the pitch, but we also realise the opportunity for all our members to enjoy their time at the club off the pitch, and what better way than with your families.

So, if you are free on a Saturday afternoon and want to experience and add to this positive family atmosphere please do come up to Beechwood and join in.
