Lymm RFC coaching structure for 2022/23 season

Author: Simon Plumb

Adam Fletcher outlines below how the coaching staff at Lymm RFC will look for the coming season, and he has added a couple of new additions.

‘I will be continuing my role as Director of Rugby with Andy Davies is continuing as Head Coach.

‘Regrettably, we are saying goodbye to Curtis Langdon as he is moving down to join the playing squad at Worcester Warriors. Curtis will be sorely missed and has transformed not only our set piece but our breakdown skills over the past few seasons. Good luck at Worcester Curtis.

Tom Bray – Assistant Coach

‘I am extremely happy to have Tom on board as our Defence Coach. Tom has shown us for years that he is a great defender, and now he has the opportunity to apply all of his knowledge and experience in this coaching role. Tom will also be taking the lead of the Colts Academy. This is a really important role as the Colts are our future and many have graduated into the first team squad.

Gavin Woods – Forwards Coach

‘Gav will combine the role with his playing duties which I’m over the moon about and I couldn’t be happier he is taking up this position. Anyone who has over 500 games of National League rugby under their belt is going to be a great asset.

Last season was great, finishing fifth, and we won 12 out of the last 14 games so we must have been doing something right. There is a great sense of team spirit within the squad and we are looking forward to another successful season in the new Regional 1 North West structure, which means a lot more local fixtures. It is too early to talk about promotion but we are ambitious and I can only see this squad getting better and better.

‘Thank you to everyone in the club who has supported the senior squad through the season, in all sorts of ways. It is hugely appreciated, and we will do all we can to improve as well as entertain next season.’

Thankyou
