Manor Road Tennis Club (MRTC) has merged with Lymm Rugby Club (LRC) to become the Tennis Section. MRTC members are now members of LRC. We will continue to play at the Manor Road site for another year whilst 4 new all-weather, floodlit, courts are built at LRC in the Walled Garden.
Rugby, Hockey, Squash and Social Members of LRC are offered a discounted membership of the Tennis Section, including discounts for families. Due to the shortened period of play this year caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering reduced membership fees for the remainder of the season.
Social tennis is being played at present at Manor Road taking full account of Covid guidelines regularly updated by LTA (e.g. restrictions on number of players, booking courts).
We would like to offer Lymm Rugby Club members the opportunity to join us to play until the end of our outdoor tennis season (Oct 2020). Special membership rates are offered to LRC members on a continuing basis. Players of all ages who are new to tennis are especially welcome.
LRC MEMBERSHIP PACKAGE
We have memberships available to LRC members in the following categories:
Juniors under 11 (£7)
Juniors 11 – 18(£11)
Parent (£20) (an adult who wants to play with an active junior member)
In addition, for those who do not want to join as a member initially, we allow visitors to play with a member. The visitor fee is £3 per hour. Please note that only adult members and guardians of the junior members can book courts. All visitors can be added as participants in the booking process.
We hope to encourage new and experienced players with any ability level to come along to play social tennis.
If you require further information please contact Stella Connor, Membership Secretary, whose details can be found under ‘Contacts’ or via the Membership link on this page.
We are a small, friendly, inclusive and ambitious club based in Lymm. We are LTA registered and were awarded Tennis Clubmark Accreditation by the LTA in 2010. We have two shale courts and a clubhouse, with a kitchen, toilet, changing room and seating areas.
We offer a range of social and competitive tennis to suit players at all levels. In normal times, we have social play on Monday evenings and Saturday afternoons for all the adult members. Social tennis is informal, friendly and a great opportunity to meet other members of the club, make friends and improve your game.
We compete in the Warrington and District Lawn Tennis League, although this season is suspended due to the pandemic. We currently have two Men’s, one Ladies and two Mixed teams but are looking to increase these with new members and also to introduce junior teams. Everyone who wants competitive tennis has the opportunity to play.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Tennis Section!
Coaching – Martin Gleaves
With the merger with Lymm Rugby Club now complete, I am delighted to welcome all members to our club. Our coaching programme is designed to help players of all ages and abilities, with sessions being split into appropriate age ranges.
We split groups into five ages, with our red group covering ages five to eight, our orange and green group is for ages nine and ten, and our Junior programme is split into under and over thirteens. We also run adult coaching sessions.
Following the merger, I am pleased to announce that new coaching sessions are now available on Mondays, in addition to our current successful programmes run on Wednesdays and Saturdays. For more information with regards to these groups, please follow the ‘Coaching’ link on this page.
Members of LRC are entitled to the member’s rate for coaching.
Individual coaching sessions are also available on request. These are the perfect way to practice a particular skill or problem you are finding with your game. Please contact me directly to arrange a suitable time.
I am excited to get started and meet many of you soon. If there is anything I can help you with then please contact me, my details can be found under ‘Contacts’ on this page.
