Lymm Senior Colts secure another impressive win

Lymm took a tight squad of 15 to face Manchester. This depletion is owing to injuries from last week’s game & school rugby this Saturday. Manchester had an overwhelming 25 man squad, so Lymm braced themselves for what was expected to be a very tough encounter. Manchester have always been a big & well drilled outfit, so Lymm knew they had to be strategic & clinical in attack & ferocious in defence.

The first half saw Lymm execute some fantastic skills in both their attack shape, continuity & speed, resulting in a strong 5 try lead despite conceding a try in the last minute of the half.

HT 5 – 31

Things changed slightly in the 2nd half as Lymm had gone to uncontested scrums meaning the man off rule applied. Lymm defensively rattled allowed Manchester to secure another try. Lymm regrouped & despite having a man less, utilised their attack shape linking forwards & the back line to finish with an additional 3 tries.

This was an outstanding team performance with some excellent attacking play and handling skills. Lymm were prepared to keep the ball in hand, even attacking out of their own 22, resulting in some spectacular tries. The opposition supporters were very complimentary about the class of the Lymm display and referee – Mr Simon Vale, complimented Lymm on their attitude and discipline throughout the game. They were a credit to the Lymm Club.
