When I was 28/29, fifty years ago, I broke my leg playing against Old Salians and went to hospital in the back of Dot Wardle’s mini. Can you imagine how comfy that was, getting in and out.
12 months later I broke it again, playing against the same team.
My team mates presented me with an appropriately engraved sympathy tankard to mark the unfortunate, freak, anniveary break, I’ve still got it, looking at me on the shelf, to remind me.
