1st XV v Taunton Titans – Saturday 10th October 2026

Lymm travel down to Taunton on Saturday to play the Taunton Titans.  With both teams having won 4 of their opening 5 matches of the season and with Lymm sitting just one place (in 3rd) and one point (on 22) above the Somerset side, this promises to be another “ding-dong” battle between the two clubs.

The two previous encounters between the sides certainly warranted this description, with Lymm prevailing narrowly in both – something of which Taunton will be fully aware.  The 39-33 result at Lymm last November was as memorable for Cal Morris’s long range drop goal as it was for any of the 11 excellent tries scored on the day.  The reverse fixture at Taunton in March this year was decided by a solitary point in 57, with Lymm just holding on for a deserved win on the road, as a late Taunton rally accumulated 21 points in the final 6 minutes .

Taunton lost their unbeaten record last time out to a narrow loss at Redruth in ,what appears on paper to have been, a nip and tuck West Country battle.  Coming off the back of two excellent wins, Lymm will travel full of confidence, albeit fully expecting the Titans to be the most difficult test they will have faced to date this season.  Whilst the result is difficult to predict, one certainty is that there will be a big crowd at Veritas Park to view what is certain to be an entertaining match.

For those unable to make the trip to Taunton, the game will be streamed live in the clubhouse (see post below).
