“Only a win for the Lions could have improved the day at Lymm RFC on Saturday!”
A tremendous experience was had by all those that attended the Lions Family Fun Day in the walled garden at Beechwood on Saturday. More than 220 members, their families and friends enjoyed a great environment for our first proper use of the walled garden and social get-together since March 2020 when we entered the first Covid-19 lock-down.
The outdoor open space that the walled garden offers allowed relevant social distancing measures to be observed by those attending the event, whilst at the same time creating a fantastic social experience that Lymm Rugby Club have successfully created over many years – hopefully this is a sign of change and a return to something that represents “normal”!
A combination of great entertainment for the Kids, an excellent quality large video screen and great audio for all to watch the match and high-quality food and drinks combined to create the perfect environment and experience.
The aerial video posted here, care of Ricky Cornelia, provides a great view of the event for those that were unable to join in the fun – perhaps next time!!
I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank all our member volunteers, from all sections of the club, who provided their time and effort to set up this event and to John Walman and his bar team for the food and bar service that they provide – it was absolutely brilliant and appreciated by all that attended, early feedback has been excellent!
The final Lions test will be televised within the Clubhouse next weekend, 7th August 2021, from 3.00pm, so if you want to watch this series finale with members and friends please come and join in the fun – hopefully the Lions will be victorious and beat the Springboks!!
